A Teacher’s Journey to Sustainable Impact
The reasons above are exactly why Kenton Zerbin, our founder, left the school system as a teacher to show people like you how to live a life where you can thrive, reconnect with your food and nature, and rebuild your most valuable relationships.
Forced to teach an outdated curriculum, his high school students were bored out of their minds until he started learning about permaculture and teaching it to them. Their eyes lit up, and they stopped paying attention to their screens and started paying attention to what he was saying.
Kenton knew he was onto something, so he quit his teaching job and travelled the world learning permaculture. He built several homes, installed dozens of edible landscapes, and even started up a Permaculture school with the United Nations.
Finally, he was helping everyday people build natural systems to support themselves—how to grow their own organic food, build their own homes, and set up water and power systems to keep themselves alive.
The Academy's Mission
Kenton believes that mentorship and connection are the paths to this transformation. That’s why he created the Attainable Sustainable Academy. It’s a place where he can put all of his passion for teaching into mentoring a small group to reimagine their potential, reconnect with their world, and reskill so they become beyond sustainable.

Hi! I’m Kenton Zerbin. And I’m thrilled to have you here.

Our education system didn’t prepare you and I for life on earth. That is why in 2011 I quit my job as a school teacher and went on a quest to reskill.
Fast forward 13 years, and I live in an off-grid house I built, I consult internationally on edible landscapes, and I even started a sustainability school with the U.N.
Today, I know what we are capable of — we can create resilient homes, flourishing properties, and a lifestyle we can be proud of.
I’ve reached thousands of people through workshops and classes… But one crucial element was always missing—community. This is exactly why I founded Attainable Sustainable Academy.
