Our “home-base” will be Joe Rich Community Hall, where you will learn each morning, and launch from in the afternoons to do tours and hands-on activities.

The region is full of BnBs and the classroom is 30 min from Kelowna. If you need a place to stay, we have local recommendations. -
TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT:
Whether you need assistance with airport pick-up or drop-off or carpooling to and from class each day, our staff will help coordinate carpooling between students and shuttle services with staff. -
PERSONALIZED ACTIVITIES:
We have all sorts of recommendations for the region - for food, for recreation, for sight-seeing. For those interested in extending their retreat experience, we will help coordinate extra activities after the retreat such as hiking, horseback riding, and paddle-boarding.

Understand how the guts of your house work and how to make it even better. We cover water, power, heat, and waste, then how to back-up each system so you have peace of mind, security, and proud comfort.
Annual Food
Learn the basics to grow your own food including a crash course in botany, gardening, and more. Get vital tips and a fascinating history lesson how both gardens and civilizations flourish or collapse.
Perennial Food
Learn about perennial food systems–food that grows back every year on its own. Perennials are the hero of any permaculture system because they require less work and maintenance than annuals. You’ll also learn about wild food foraging and hunting.
Black Gold
Ditch chemical fertilizer for good! Learn how to turn ANY kind of organic “waste” into “black gold”. Create home composting systems that produces nutrient-rich soil so you can grow nutritious fruit & veg organically. (You don’t HAVE to compost your poop but I’ll teach you how. )
Animals
Birds, insects, and animals aren’t pests–they’re essential! Learn how to attract animals to pollinate, control pests, and fertilize. You’ll learn how to create bat and bird houses, how to attract bees, how to create “bug hotels”, and how to keep chickens, and even design larger animals on your property.
Community
