Home Basics
Understand how to built a house for anywhere in the world… THEN how to make it tiny. You will learn how to ensure your mini-mansion stays cozy, safe, and healthy. This part of the course will pay you 10 times over.
Your Needs
The #1 mistake in the tiny house industry is rushing into building or buying a tiny house. You are going to learn to clarify EXACTLY what you need and want. Anything less is a house for someone else.
Floor Plans
Learn to make your perfect floor plans using our copyright floor planner. Get a guide to decision making and tips to make sure you prioritize what’s most important and then make the most from every single inch.
Building Codes
First we teach you that there are 4 ways you can build a “tiny house”. Each has their pro’s and con’s. Each has different costs, rules, and work-arounds. (We teach you the rules… you choose what to do with that info).
Construction
Learn the steps of construction so you can talk shop with a builder, spot a lemon, or dive into DIY building with your eyes wide open. Learn tips only an experienced tiny house builder can share.
Utilities
Understand how the guts of your house work and how to make it even better. We cover water, power, heat, and waste, then how to back-up each system so you have peace of mind, security, and proud comfort.
Zoning
The building code you built your house to will determine where it can go and how it can be used. Learn the basics of zoning so you make sure you are allowed to put it where you want. Get solutions and tips to work with your local authorities.

- Day 2 goes from 9am-5:30pm and is loaded with information so you can choose a tiny home with confidence and then start designing it:
- Trailers, foundation options, & floorplans
- The rules for road travel
- How to design an efficient home for your climate.
- After lunch, you get to flex your creative muscles while you:
- Design tiny house floor plans
- Learn space-saving hacks from another tiny houser
- Take the mystery out of utility systems with a comprehensive overview of your home utility system, including heat, water, power, internet, and waste
- Bottom Line for Day 2: Designing is fun, space hacks are fantastic, and composting toilets are exciting!
